Small Collective. Big Work.

GSNS is a mutual aid collective rooted in humanity and justice for all. We are small, 31 members strong, powered day to day by a small core team who just keep showing up. And yet, we do big things. We always have.

Small does not mean limited. It means lean, intentional, and accountable directly to the people we serve. We connect neighbors with resources, coordinate a free store network across Seattle, raise emergency funds, and support community-led organizing responding to displacement, hunger, and crisis.

We Know Nonprofits
Can Feel Scary.

No Intake Forms. No Gatekeeping.

A lot of folx have been burned. You reach out for help and suddenly there is an eligibility checklist and someone taking a cut to manage it all. We hear that. We have seen it too. That is not us.

We Have Never Taken Grant Money.

Grants come with strings. Reporting requirements, funder priorities, restrictions on how resources move. We would rather stay small and free than grow in ways that compromise who we answer to. We answer to our community. Full stop.

No Hierarchies. No Waitlists.

We do not employ staff, operate formal delivery services, or manage third-party projects. Volunteers choose how and when they participate. Our role is to support and connect, not to control or oversee.

Real People. Real Talk.

If you are an individual, a mutual aid group, or a community-led initiative wondering whether you can trust us, we hope this page starts to answer that. Still have questions? Just reach out. We will talk.

Work Rooted in Solidarity.

We support and uplift community-led work that shares our values. These initiatives are independently organized. We do not direct, control, or speak for them. We simply show up in solidarity.

Free Store Network

We operate and support free store sites across Seattle where neighbors can give and receive clothing, furniture, household goods, and essentials. No applications. No income verification. No gatekeeping.

Your Work
Deserves a Home.

GSNS can serve as a fund home for mutual aid projects, organizing efforts, and community-led initiatives aligned with our mission. If your group needs infrastructure to fundraise without forming your own legal entity, we may be able to help pool and steward resources on your behalf.

This is not a grant program. No committee. No approval board. Just a practical way to support community-led work that is already happening.

If your work is rooted in solidarity, equity, and direct community care, reach out and lets talk.

GSNS is a 501(c)(4). Contributions are not tax-deductible.

Care Work Takes Many Forms.

We believe disabled comrades belong in every part of mutual aid including organizing, planning, and direct action. Contribution is not measured by physical capacity, speed, or visibility.

We are committed to building practices that welcome disabled volunteers and neighbors, and we keep learning as we go. Not all participation looks the same, and that is exactly the point.

Mutual aid is collective, voluntary, and community led. Participation is always by choice.
